CUTTING EDGE RESEARCH
MARIOS HADJIVASSILIOU, M.D.
Dr. Hadjivassiliou, from the UK, has been doing tremendous research on neurological maladies since the late 1990's. Many of his patients that tested positive for the antigliadin antibody DO NOT have villous atrophy and many tested negative on the tTG (that is often the only test given).
His research is connecting major neurological and cerebral maladies to gluten: MS, Alzheimer’s, Huntington’s, Parkinson’s, seizures, schizophrenia, migraines, ataxia (balance), neuropathy, Autism, ADD, ADHD and more. Go to www.theglutenfile.com and click on his name on the home page to link directly to his research. You may need to search for his latest article:
“THE IMMUNOLOGY OF GLUTEN SENSITIVITY: BEYOND THE GUT”
It is highly unlikely that your neurologist or doctor will even have heard of him, so download some of his research to take to your doctor and highlight the important parts. You could also call her/his office and ask politely if they could do some reading up on gluten and whatever your neurological (see: 'Symptoms and Maladies') or any other symptoms might be.
