CLASSIC CELIAC DISEASE

Approximately 1/3 (or less) of those with CD have Classic CD symptoms.

Classic symptoms:

  • Diarrhea and/or constipation
  • Weight loss, failure to thrive or growth issues
  • Gas, bloating, abdominal pain
  • Foul smelling and/or clay colored stools
  • Vomiting and/or a distended tummy

PLEASE DO NOT IGNORE ANY ONE or more of the symptoms above in your child (or yourself, for that matter). If your child exhibits any of the following symptoms, it could be a sign that CD is going on.  I say this based on experience with my grandchildren.

  • Irritability, clinginess, behavior problems
  • Pale pallor, dry or cracked lips
  • Bruises easily, lack of muscle
  • Listless, fatigued, seems depressed
  • Developmental issues
  • Allergies
  • Is hungry all the time, can’t eat much at dinnertime

"My grandson had 10 - 12 of these symptoms!

His doctor didn’t have a clue!"

Fatigue, anemia, osteoporosis, irritability, achy muscles and bones, and vitamin deficiencies, are some of the atypical symptoms that may also be present with classic CD.

Ignoring Gluten Sensitivity in children may lead to stature issues, delayed puberty, infertility issues, autoimmune diseases and to many of the issues described within this website, not to mention poor all-around health.
